Site chart vs TradingView Desktop — two charts, one voice

Published

Traders often assume “voice chart control” means one chart. In TradingVox there are two, on purpose.

1. The embedded chart (on this site)

The TradingView-powered widget under the demo (Settings calls it Embedded (below)) lives on tradingvox.com. Vox can read structured state from it — symbol, timeframe, indicators — and can send named chart commands to it when that panel is open.

No Finn install required. No tradingview.com login required for the basic widget path.

2. TradingView Desktop (via Finn)

Your real tradingview.com session, driven by the EZPZ TV Connector. Vox does not CDP your browser itself — it asks Finn, and Finn acts on the desktop chart.

This is the path for alerts, replay, and the rest of a full TradingView workspace that the small on-site widget is not trying to replace.

How Settings chooses

In Voice & Mode → Chart target:

  • TradingView Desktop — unqualified “draw on my chart” / “what’s on my chart” goes to Finn
  • Embedded (below) — those asks go to the on-site widget instead

Use Desktop when you are trading on your usual layout. Use Embedded when you want everything inside the TradingVox page without opening the Connector.

Mixing them up is the most common “it didn’t draw” report we see: Chart target set to Desktop while Finn shows Linked — desktop app not open, or target set to Embedded while you are staring at a different window.
